Using Research Navigator™ is simple and intuitive. After setting up a personal LoginID and Password, students may begin to explore one of four exclusive databases. They can search the EBSCO Academic Journal and Abstract Database disciplines one at a time or simultaneously, using either simple or sophisticated search strategies, such as keywords, article numbers, exact matches, or Boolean operators. The one-year archive of articles published in the New York Times is searchable by keyword across all or selected subject areas. Similarly, students may search a one-year archive of the Financial Times for news stories affecting companies, industries, and economies. This database also provides access to five-year financials for the 500 largest U.S. companies (by gross revenue). The Link Library “Best of the Web” organizes web sites by key terms (presented alphabetically) within a discipline.
At any time, students can quickly jump to other tabs to review the steps in the research process, find tips on how to navigate and maximize research time at the campus or public library, read a step-by-step guide to writing a research paper, view sample research papers, and consult guidelines on how to finish an academic assignment with endnotes and bibliography.
